Ulrika has not presented a prime-time show since 2002, when she fronted Mr Right and met Lance for the first time. He was a contestant trying to win the heart of one of 15 girls.
The show proved to be a ratings flop but for Ulrika it was the start of a blossoming relationship with Lance, former equerry to the Duke Of YorkWith her once-dazzling television career now languishing in the doldrums and no famous man on her arm, the 39-year-old has increasingly had to fall back on her ability to shock.
How sad that, the one-time golden girl of British television and (almost) 40-year-old mother of three has come to this.
Pity indeed her 11-year-old son at school in Berkshire this week as his fellow pupils ogle pictures of his mum (yet again) parading her charms.
But then poor Ulrika finds herself facing something of a dilemma these days. Where once her mere attendance at a party would have guaranteed her picture appearing in the papers, these days she is largely overlooked.
All of which has been troubling for Miss Jonsson and, perhaps, goes some way to explain her attention-seeking behaviour.
Only this week she?s been at it again. In her Sunday newspaper column, she went into great detail about her on-going battle with depression.
Things got so bad earlier this year she admits that she would go to bed at night hoping not to wake up in the morning.
"Despite a slightly frayed love life, you might look at me and think I live a pretty charmed existence, and to an extent you?d be right," she confessed.
"But there were times when I simply didn?t want to go on."
On three occasions, she says, despite her fabulous lifestyle, she has suffered bouts of depression and panic attacks.
"When you are depressed, life is one long unbearable situation.
"Despite having three bright, wonderful children and a house I can call my own, I?ve found myself in such despair that all the joy is sucked out of life. I found it so hard to cope.
"Instead of taking anti-depressants I chose to battle through this past year-despite not wanting to wake up in the morning, hoping that the world would end while I slept.
"There were tears, but most of the time I was miserable, distracted and disillusioned.
"Depression grips the mind and the heart in a desperately unforgiving way. I feel I?m just coming out of my deep, dark tunnel."
A good, supportive GP and taking up exercise has helped her, she confides, although she feels it is likely that she will suffer another bout in the future.
Certainly her behaviour has given those close to her much cause for concern. Only this month she was photographed looking worryingly thin at a function.
And in a rare television appearance, standing in to host BBC1?s City Hospital, viewers were shocked by her gaunt and frail appearance.
And it is not only her fans who are concerned for her health. Her mother Gunn Brodie told the Mail how she begged Ulrika not to lose any more weight.
Ulrika denies she suffers from anorexia but admitted she had ?overdone it? on the dieting front when she lost a dramatic four stones in weight, following the birth of her daughter Martha two years ago, with a gruelling fitness regime.
Unsurprising, perhaps, given that all things considered it has been a truly terrible couple of years for Miss Jonsson.
As well as a stalled television career and this week?s admission that she has battled depression, she has had to contend with the failure of yet another relationship.
After a broken marriage and a string of doomed love affairs with unsuitable men, her marriage to ?perfect? second husband Lance Gerrard-Wright collapsed after just two years.
Despite the hopes of those close to her that she had finally found the happiness that has so eluded her, Ulrika unceremoniously dumped the mild-mannered Lance after a series of rows about his lack of ambition.
Then, to the incredulity of her friends and family, she blamed his unreasonable behaviour for the marriage split.
Even Ulrika?s mother admitted she was mystified by her daughter?s decision to ditch Gerrard-Wright, the former army major and one-time equerry to the Duke of York, she met on the 2002 television reality show Mr Right.
However, the honeymoon was soon over. Attending a London film premiere just weeks after the nuptials, Ulrika turned her face and grimaced when her husband tried to kiss her.
At the root of their problems, say friends, was the thorny subject of money, and Lance?s lack of it.
Their £1.2 million house in the sought-after Berkshire village of Cookham Dean and top-of-the-range Saab convertible were all paid for by her.
Meanwhile Gerrard-Wright, 38, was content to be househusband, looking after their daughter Martha, as well as Ulrika?s five-year-old daughter Bo, and her 11-year-old son Cameron from her first marriage to cameraman John Turnbull.
Lance remains, say friends, extremely fond of all the children, and considers Bo, Ulrika?s daughter by German hotel boss Marcus Kempen, as his own.
"Lance is a fantastic husband and has been a wonderful father to all the children," says Mrs Brodie.
But, sadly, it wasn?t enough for Miss Jonsson. Before the ink was even dry on her decree nisi, she was making it plain she was most definitely back on the market.
"It?s inevitable, I am going to be with someone else," she said. "I don?t want to be single."
Sure enough, she was dating another man within week, telling her friends that she had fallen for ?gorgeous? 37-year-old American design executive Brian Monet.
However Miss Jonsson?s relationships are not known for their longevity and, scant surprise, Monet has not been in evidence on her recent public outings.
Friends say that now, more than ever, Ulrika is looking for someone to take care of her.
"Ulrika has been a single mother for years and has really had to struggle at times to hold everything together," one told the Mail.
"I get the impression she would like to be taken care of by a man. She jokes about marrying a millionaire, but I think deep down she would love not to have to worry about money."
Indeed, it seems that Miss Jonsson already has a replacement lined up.
Judging by her cheeky display this week, someone has put a spring in her step, and she told readers of her column on Sunday that she is planning plenty of action between the sheets.
Reacting lasciviously to news that short sharp bursts of exercise are just as effective as long work-outs, she said:
"No need for my six-mile runs any more. Thirty seconds of intense action will do. And I know just the thing. I?ve got my new sexercise regime all worked out!"
Whoever the recipient of her amorous advances may be, let?s hope he lasts longer than her previous lovers..
