Knights, of Hoddesdon, Herts, was banned from getting in touch with his ex after they split in 2009.
Knights was recently accused of breaching an order which barred him from contacting her directly.
He had been unable to attend court in September after collapsing and being sent to hospital.
The order banned him from contacting her except through a solicitor, but he denied having broken it.
Taylforth and Knights enjoyed a stormy relationship over the years.
In 2005 she kicked Knights out for cheating with a barmaid but then forgave him.
In 2006 Gillian needed three stitches in her scalp after he beat her up in front of their son while out celebrating their 20th anniversary.
He was cautioned after Gillian refused to press charges.
In 1992 Gillian lost a libel action over a story that accused her of performing a sex act on Knights in their Range Rover.
She said Knights had been taken ill and that she was massaging his stomach. When she lost the case, Gillian collapsed in court.
Gillian, 58, has admitted previously the decision to split wasn’t easy, despite the couple’s well-documented problems.
“It was really tough as you don’t just stop having feelings for someone,” she says.
“There was no real catalyst for the split, but things weren’t going the way they should. I’d felt like that for about a year and it got to the point where I didn’t want us to be constantly rowing.
"Geoff and I have fiery personalities and often clashed and went through stages of not talking. Sometimes I’ve been portrayed as this victim, but it’s not like that. I’m feisty and I do answer back.
"Eventually, I plucked up the courage to say to Geoff that I didn’t want us to continue in the way we had been. He turned round and said, ‘Well I was thinking about moving out, anyway.’
"We’d started to grow apart, too. He was going out with his mates and I was spending more time with mine.
"The children were growing up and I thought, ‘I just want to do what I want to do for once.’”
