‘Nancy was a client. I met her through a mutual friend when she first came to Britain [in 2001]. She wanted to be involved in some sort of charitable initiative and I have a passion for football. I told her the story that was with me since I was a boy, about the fact that in the First World War the Germans and the British played football in No Man’s Land. We decided to set up a charitable foundation to build pitches in trouble spots around the world.
‘Then the scandals broke within her life and I was called upon to advise her. I was supportive of her and I helped her at that time and advised her professionally and personally.’
