And friends say Dec - who hosts the hit I'm A Celebrity with Ant McPartlin - chats with her almost every day.
A source close to the Geordie star said: "He and Kate have known each other for ages but it is only recently that they have started dating.
"They were friends to begin with and got on really well, hanging out in a crowd.
"But over the past few weeks they have been on dates and their friendship has moved on to the next level. I guess it's what you could call a slow burner.
