March 31, 2014 on People.com Jill Duggar Being Courted by Derick Dillard: "I had gotten an email from Derick a few years ago and gave him my phone number so he could share the work he was doing in Nepal," Jim Bob says of his first interactions with his daughter's new beau. "I was impressed with him as I got to know him over the years. He sounded like an amazing young man. I felt like from the beginning, they had similar personalities and goals. I thought they would hit it off."
Several text messages and very long Skype conversations later, and Jill agreed. The couple began officially courting in November.
"We got to know each other in the first few months pretty quickly," Jill says. "I was in love with someone I had never met in person, but we really knew each other well."
April 9, 2014: Jill Duggar Engaged to Derick Dillard, Jill Duggar, 22, who is studying to be a midwife, recently revealed her courtship with Derick Dillard, 25, an accountant in Rogers, Ark. Now, she tells PEOPLE exclusively, the two are engaged to be married.
They were married on June 21, 2014, on August 20, 2014 they announced they were expecting their first child.
Israel David on April 6, 2015, Weighing in at 9 lbs., 10 oz., Jill and Derick's first child arrived 11:49 p.m. Monday night.
