Since 2009, Pickard and Sorrentino would hook up every summer whenever he and his castmates came back to the Jersey Shore. However in the summer of 2012, Mike considered having her as a girlfriend exclusively. So he took Paula out to a restaurant where he opened up his jacket, and revealed a shirt that said "LET'S MAKE IT OFFICIAL".
However during their two weeks of dating, Mike saw a more obnoxious side of Paula that made him feel uncomfortable. So he decided to end their short-lived relationship and went back to the way they used to be, it was until Paula became resentful.
