LEGENDARY Smiths frontman, Morrissey, has long dodged questions about his sexuality. Now he's confirmed he had a relationship with a male photographer.
In his memoir, the singer recalled how he followed Jake Walters back to his house after meeting him in a restaurant, adding that he "steps inside and stays for two years".
And while the singer never explicitly states whether they were lovers, he writes of sharing hotel rooms and his head "resting on Jake’s exposed belly".
He also recalls an encounter with a woman at an airport, writing: "'Well,' says the woman, 'You’re either very close brothers or lovers.' 'Can’t brothers be lovers?' I impudently reply – always ready with the pointlessly pert, whether sensible or not."
The self-titled autobiography also states: "For the first time in my life the eternal 'I' becomes 'we', as, finally, I can get on with someone... Jake and I neither sought nor needed company other than our own for the whirlwind stretch to come.
"Indulgently Jake and I test how far each of us can go before ‘being dwelt in’ causes cries of intolerable struggle, but our closeness transcends such visitations."
