Lynn met The Doors at the Ondine Discotheque when they made they New York Debut on November 25, 1966.
From 1966 to 1967 she had an on-and-off relationship with The Doors' frontman Jim Morrison.
In an interview with Robby, he explains:
"Q: There's the part about him flipping quarters into his mouth and swallowing them as a way to impress girls. That's certainly an unusual pickup move! Although I guess it worked, he dated your wife Lynn for a while before you two got together. Was that ever something that was discussed between you and Jim?
A: Nah, not really. She was there when we first went to New York. There was this place called Ondine's Club, and she was one of the gals who would hang out there. She, of course, took a shining to Jim and so eventually she came out to LA. I hadn't even really met her in New York, although I knew she was there. She was one of the gals or guys that would come back to the dressing room and stuff, just to hang out.
Anyway, she was taken with Jim so she decided to come out to LA. Jim had written to her and said something like, "Oh yeah, come on out. I've got this apartment you can stay in." So she comes out and knocks on the door, and who's there but [Jim's longtime girlfriend] Pam. That was their first encounter in LA. Lynn goes, "Who is she?" Jim says, "Oh, she just lives here." So Lynn leaves in a huff, and Jim runs after her, and then almost gets run down by a car. Crazy stuff.
Anyway, I took a liking to her later, when she was pissed off at Jim. I just started seeing her a little more when she was really down on Jim because of all his crazy s—. And it just worked out. She's still with me."
By early 1968 both Lynn and Jim's bandmate Robby Krieger were single. And when he knew she was attending at a mutual friend's house party one night, he had to go. He then offered to ride Lynn and a friend to their home at Horse Shoe Canyon with his car.
Lynn started to bring her friends over to his house on Topanga Beach to hang out,but finally onenight they both were left alone and their romance began.
They grew very close very quickly. They were in the ocean together many times and she joined The Doors in their first tripto Hawaii. Robby was a bit jealous that Lynn and Jim were friends and hanging together all the time, but jim was with Pam.
About a year later, Lynn and Robby moved together into a house in Benedict Canyon. One night Jim was there, and when he and Lynn when on their own in the kitchen, he asked her to start things up again, but she made him clear that her time with him had ended forever. Later thatnight, Jim complimented Robby for his choice of partner and never went after Lynn again.
On December 26, 1970 Robbie and Lynn got married, and on September 5, 1973 they had their only children, a son named Waylon.
