Hobbs began dating Michael White in 1972, one month after she arrived in London from Australia. White was a theatre impreasario known for throwing the best bashes in London. Together they became King and Queen of the London social scene in the 70's, throwing all the big bashes and knowing anyone who was anyone of the London Elite. Good friends included Jack Nicholson, Roman Polanski, Angelica Huston, etc.
"Only one old girfriend, Lyndall Hobbs, a film director who went on to date Al Pacino, appears in the documentary. Lyndall gazed adoringly at Michael throughout my interview with her, which took place as they watched some old Super 8 footage of summers at Tony Richardson's house in the Côte D'Azur, mainly around the swimming-pool that David Hockney made famous in his iconic paintings. 'The thing about Michael,' Lyndall said, 'was that he was brilliant at work and play, and made everything fun.'"
